The rosebush on which the rose bloomed was growing in a small semi-circular flower bed in front of the village house. The flower bed was very neglected, weeds thickly growing on the old, ingrown beds and on the paths, which no one had cleaned or sanded for a long time. Nettles occupied the whole corner of the flower bed, they stung, of course, but one could admire their dark greenery from a distance, especially when it served as a background for the tender and luxurious pale rose flower.❤❤
